Dental Cleaning in Dallas — Netflix, Medit Scanner, Free Whitening Trays at Frankford & Preston Road

Due for a cleaning? At Thrive Dental & Orthodontics in Dallas, we’ve built a cleaning experience that feels genuinely different from what most Dallas patients expect from a dental office. Your own treatment room with two TVs — one above you, one at eye level — with Netflix throughout your appointment. Comfort headphones so you can fully immerse in your show. A pillow and blanket. A warm towel when you’re done. Digital X-rays and photos shown directly on the TVs so you see exactly what we see and understand your oral health clearly.

And every new patient receives complimentary custom whitening trays — fabricated from a precise Medit digital scan of your teeth — included with their first visit.

We’re on the corner of Frankford and Preston Road. Our chandelier lobby has complimentary coffee, tea, and water waiting when you arrive. Book your cleaning or call (214) 306-8088. Get directions.

The Most Comfortable Cleaning You’ve Had

Two TVs and Netflix throughout your appointment

Every operatory at our Dallas office has two TVs — one mounted above the chair and one at eye level — with Netflix available from the moment you sit down. You choose what you watch. Comfort headphones are in every room so you can fully immerse without background noise. Whether you’re in for a routine cleaning or a more involved procedure, you have something to watch for the entire appointment.

Patient reviews consistently describe this as one of the most striking differences at our Dallas office — the combination of your own room, two screens, and headphones makes a cleaning appointment feel noticeably different from anywhere else they’ve been.

Digital X-rays and photos on the TV — you see exactly what we see

At our Dallas office, digital X-rays and intraoral photos taken during your exam are displayed on the TVs in your treatment room in real time. Your dentist reviews them with you on screen — explaining what they show, what’s developing, what needs attention, and what looks healthy.

For patients who have felt kept in the dark at other offices — told what treatment is needed without seeing the clinical reason — this changes the entire dynamic. You leave every cleaning at our Dallas office with a clear picture of your own oral health, not just a treatment plan and a bill.

Medit digital scanner — no impressions, ever

If your cleaning appointment reveals that any restorative work is needed — a crown, a bridge, or aligners — our Dallas office uses the Medit intraoral scanner for all procedures requiring a model of your teeth. No goopy impressions, no gagging, no mess. This is also how your complimentary new patient whitening trays are fabricated — a precise digital scan rather than a physical impression.

Free custom whitening trays for new patients

Every new patient at our Dallas location receives complimentary custom whitening trays — fabricated from a Medit digital scan of their teeth and paired with professional-strength whitening gel. Included with your new patient cleaning visit at no charge. Most patients leave their first appointment with trays already in hand.

Comfort headphones, pillow and blanket, warm towel

Comfort headphones are available in every room at our Dallas office. A pillow and blanket are there if you want to fully settle in. A warm towel ends every appointment. For patients who have dreaded cleaning appointments for years, these details add up to a genuinely different experience.

A chandelier lobby with complimentary coffee, tea, and water

Our Dallas waiting area features beautiful chandeliers and a welcoming atmosphere. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available while you wait. Nothing about our Preston Road lobby feels like a typical dental office.

PPO insurance maximized at every visit

We accept 18+ PPO dental insurance plans at our Dallas location and maximize your benefits at every appointment. Our team verifies your coverage before you arrive and reviews what was used and what remains at checkout — including whether your deductible is met and what you should schedule before December 31st. Most patients have never had a dental office do this proactively. We do it every time.

What’s Included at Your Cleaning Appointment

Professional cleaning. Your hygienist removes plaque and tartar buildup from every tooth surface — calcified deposits that no amount of home brushing can address once formed. Polish follows to remove surface staining and leave teeth smooth. Expert flossing clears the contact points between teeth where bacteria accumulate.

Comprehensive exam. Your dentist performs a full clinical evaluation — assessing each tooth for decay, cracks, existing restorations, bite issues, and developing concerns. Digital X-rays at clinically appropriate intervals are reviewed with you on the treatment room TV. Oral cancer screening is included at every comprehensive exam — a quick, painless visual assessment that takes minutes and is one of the most important things we do.

Gum health assessment. Your hygienist measures pocket depths around each tooth — the clinical measure of gum health. Healthy pockets are shallow. Deepening pockets indicate developing gum disease — the leading cause of tooth loss in adults and directly linked to cardiovascular and systemic health. Catching it early at a routine cleaning means treatment stays simple.

Insurance review at checkout. Before you leave, our team reviews your dental benefits — what today’s visit used, your remaining annual maximum, and what treatment to schedule before benefits reset January 1st.

Dental Anxiety? We’ve Got You

Dental anxiety is one of the most common reasons patients put off cleanings for years — and one of the things our Dallas team takes most seriously. If you’re nervous, tell us when you book.

We go at your pace entirely. We explain every step before doing it. Netflix is on throughout in your own private room. Comfort headphones mean you can tune out completely. And if you need additional support, nitrous oxide — laughing gas — is available at our Dallas office to take the edge off during your cleaning. Inhaled through a small comfortable mask, nitrous creates a feeling of calm and relaxation within minutes. It clears completely when the mask is removed — most patients drive home normally.

For patients who haven’t been to the dentist in years — whether from anxiety, a previous bad experience, or life getting in the way — we see this regularly and approach it without judgment. Tell us what you’re worried about and we’ll build the appointment around making it manageable.

Regular Cleaning vs. Deep Cleaning

Routine cleaning (prophylaxis) — every six months for patients with healthy gums. Removes plaque and tartar above the gumline. Covered by most PPO dental insurance plans at 80–100% with little or no out-of-pocket cost. Fast, comfortable, and done entirely in your treatment room with Netflix on throughout.

Deep dental cleaning (scaling and root planing) — for patients with active gum disease. Goes below the gumline to remove bacterial deposits from root surfaces and smooth roots to discourage reattachment of harmful bacteria. Typically completed across two appointments — one side of the mouth per visit. Covered by most PPO plans at the basic or major restorative tier.

The American Dental Association recommends professional cleanings every six months — and more frequently for patients with a history of periodontal disease. Your hygienist and dentist determine which type is appropriate at your exam, explain the clinical reason clearly using the X-rays and measurements on the TV screen, and present options before any treatment decision is made.

At-Home Care Between Cleanings

Professional cleanings address what home care can’t — but what you do between appointments determines how much builds up and how your appointment goes.

Brushing. Two minutes twice a day. An electric toothbrush removes significantly more plaque around the gumline than any manual brush — the single most impactful upgrade to your home routine.

Flossing. Once daily. No toothbrush reaches between teeth — the bacteria that accumulate in contact points drive both interproximal cavities and gum disease. Floss picks, water flossers, and interdental brushes are all effective alternatives if string floss isn’t working.

Toothpaste. Fluoride toothpaste is the clinical standard. For patients interested in alternatives, hydroxyapatite toothpaste is a well-researched remineralizing option. Ask our Dallas team at your next visit.

Insurance and Payment for Cleanings in Dallas

Routine preventive cleanings are covered at 80–100% by most PPO dental insurance plans — making your twice-yearly visits among the most valuable benefits your plan provides. Most patients pay little to nothing for routine cleanings.

We accept 18+ PPO plans including Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Guardian. Our team verifies benefits before your appointment and reviews them with you at checkout. FSA and HSA payment is accepted.

For patients without dental insurance, our Healthy Smiles Discount Plan at $89/year provides discounted rates on cleanings and all other services — $49/year for each additional family member with no waiting period. Cherry financing is available for larger restorative treatment needs. Visit our insurance page for the full carrier list.
