Dr. Shen
Dr. Shenouda Abdelshahed obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Cairo University in Egypt in 2012. He moved to the USA and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2021.
Dr. Shen is fully committed to his patients’ smiles, and that means keeping his mind and skills sharp! It is his firm belief that to be the best in the dental industry, you must take a lifelong approach to learning and education.
He believes that he can make a difference in patients’ lives by offering the patient an opportunity to be active in their treatment decision process, educating them as to how they can maintain a healthy smile for life, and help patients have not only a healthy mouth but a healthy body.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shen enjoys spending time with his wife Tina; in their free time, they love traveling and hiking. make each day great, something specific I am grateful for, a daily affirmation, and three amazing things that happened! It really helps set the tone for the rest of my day, and promotes positive thinking.
Dr. Garay
Hi, I’m Dr. Alma Garay! I grew up in Allen, TX, and I’m excited to return home to the DFW area as part of the Thrive Team!
I earned my Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Biology and Healthcare Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas. During college, I enjoyed volunteering and providing English-Spanish translation at local health clinics—experiences that inspired me to pursue a path dedicated to helping others.
I continued my education at Texas A&M College of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and received an Excellence Track Award in Service. To enhance my clinical skills, I moved to Los Angeles and completed two general practice residencies—first with the University of Southern California (USC) at the Los Angeles Medical Center and the Los Angeles VA Clinic, and then at the Sepulveda VA Medical Center.
I went on to earn my Certificate in Orthodontics from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC. I chose to specialize in orthodontics because I’m passionate about the positive impact it can have on our health and confidence. I truly enjoy transforming smiles and seeing the happiness that a healthy, beautiful smile brings to my patients and their families. I feel honored to be a part of your dental journey and can’t wait to meet you!
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I have a Siberian Forest cat and two energetic mini-Aussies whom I absolutely adore! I love trying new foods, exploring new places, and I’m always on the lookout for new hobbies to try!
Dr. Liu
Hi, I’m Dr. Clara Liu. I grew up in the suburbs of NYC, and I’m excited to be part of the DFW community!
My journey in dentistry started when I was an undergrad at Cornell University. I was a volunteer interpreter/translator for dental mission trips serving underserved areas in upstate NY. I became increasingly passionate about dentistry after seeing the positive impact dentists had serving patients and their larger community. My mission is “Always striving to make you smile happily and confidently.”
I went on to finish dental school at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and later finished my residency at Mount Sinai/Queens General Hospital in NYC. I lived and worked in NYC since residency before transitioning to Dallas, TX, with my family.
Outside the office, I enjoy hiking, biking, chasing sunsets, and exploring DFW with my friends and family.
