We’re on the corner of Frankford and Preston Road in Dallas. We reserve same-day appointments for dental emergencies and will do everything we can to see you today. Get directions.
When in doubt — call. Our team helps you assess your situation over the phone and determines how quickly you need to be seen. Here’s a general guide:
Call immediately — same-day care needed:
Urgent but can typically wait a day or two:
The rule: significant pain, visible swelling, fever, or a knocked-out tooth — don’t wait. Call (214) 306-8088 right now.
When a dental emergency strikes, you need a team that treats the problem — not just manages the pain temporarily and sends you home. At our Dallas location, we perform emergency procedures in-house so you get definitive care at the same appointment whenever possible.
We reserve availability specifically for dental emergencies every day. When you call with severe tooth pain, a broken tooth, or a dental abscess, we prioritize getting you in as fast as our schedule allows — often within hours. Call (214) 306-8088 the moment a dental emergency happens. Don’t wait it out — dental infections spread and conditions worsen.
Most urgent care centers and many dental offices can only offer temporary pain relief and a referral. Our Dallas dental team performs emergency procedures in-house — root canals, extractions, re-cementing crowns, treating abscesses, prescribing antibiotics and pain medication. We don’t send patients home when we can resolve the problem today.
At our Dallas office, digital X-rays and intraoral photos are taken immediately and displayed on the TVs in your treatment room in real time. Your dentist reviews the images with you on screen — you see exactly what the problem is, why a specific treatment is recommended, and what the plan involves before anything begins. For emergency patients in pain and understandably anxious, this transparency helps enormously.
Once you’re in the chair and fully numb, Netflix plays on two TVs in the treatment room — one above you and one at eye level — with earphones available for full immersion. A warm towel follows every procedure. Emergency dental appointments are stressful enough. Our Dallas team has invested in making the in-chair experience as calm and comfortable as possible from the moment treatment begins.
Our Dallas waiting area features beautiful chandeliers, complimentary coffee, tea, and water, and comfortable seating. If a family member comes with you during an emergency, they have a genuinely welcoming space to wait rather than an anxious clinical environment.
When prescriptions are needed after an emergency procedure — antibiotics for an active infection, pain medication for post-procedure discomfort — the nearest pharmacy to our Dallas office is just minutes away. You leave with what you need and can fill it quickly without an extra trip across Dallas.
Dental emergencies are unplanned — and unplanned costs are stressful on top of everything else. We offer Cherry patient financing with quick approval and flexible monthly payment terms, as well as in-house payment plans. Our team discusses costs and options with you before beginning any treatment — no surprises.
Severe toothache or abscess:
Take ibuprofen as directed — it addresses both pain and inflammation. Rinse with warm salt water. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek for 15–20 minutes at a time. Do not apply heat. Call us while you’re managing the pain and we’ll have your appointment ready when you arrive.
Knocked-out permanent tooth:
Pick up the tooth by the crown — never touch the root. Rinse gently with clean water if dirty. Reinsert into the socket if possible and hold it there. If reinsertion isn’t possible, keep it moist — in milk, saline, or between your cheek and gum. Call us immediately and drive straight in. Every minute matters — reimplantation within 30 minutes gives the best chance of saving the tooth.
Do not reinsert a knocked-out baby tooth. Call us for guidance.
Cracked or broken tooth:
Rinse with warm water. Apply a cold compress. Save any fragments. Take over-the-counter pain medication. If sharp pain occurs when air touches the tooth, that’s likely a nerve exposure — call us immediately.
Dental abscess with spreading facial swelling:
If swelling is moving toward your eye, throat, or neck — or you have difficulty swallowing or breathing — go to an emergency room immediately. This is a potentially life-threatening spreading infection. Call us on the way so we can coordinate follow-up dental care once you’re medically stable.
Lost crown or filling:
Re-cement temporarily with Dentemp or similar pharmacy dental cement. Do not use super glue. Avoid chewing on that side. If there’s significant pain or sensitivity, call for a same-day appointment. If manageable, schedule within a few days.
Emergency root canals. When infection reaches the pulp of a tooth, a root canal relieves the pain and saves the tooth. We perform emergency root canals in-house at our Dallas location for most cases. With modern local anesthetic, the procedure is far more comfortable than its reputation suggests — and the digital X-rays on your treatment room TV mean you understand exactly what’s happening at every step. The nearest pharmacy means your prescription is filled quickly.
Emergency tooth extractions. When a tooth is too severely infected or damaged to save, extraction removes the source of pain and infection and prevents further spread. We perform emergency extractions in-house at our Dallas office and discuss replacement options — dental bridges, partial dentures — at the same appointment so you leave with a clear plan.
Abscess treatment. Drainage of the infection, antibiotic prescription as clinically indicated, and definitive treatment — root canal or extraction depending on whether the tooth can be saved.
Re-cementing crowns and replacing lost fillings. Quick same-day fixes for displaced restorations. Don’t leave a prepared tooth unprotected for more than a day or two.
Temporary crown placement. For broken teeth, a temporary crown restores structure and function the same day while a permanent crown is fabricated using our Medit digital scanner — no impressions needed.
Prescription pain relief and antibiotics. Prescribed at your emergency appointment when clinically appropriate. The nearest pharmacy is minutes from our Preston Road office.
Emergency orthodontic care. For broken brackets, poking wires, or lost aligners — call our emergency orthodontist line for same-day repairs when possible.
Dental infections are the most serious dental emergencies because of how they progress. An untreated infection moves from the tooth to surrounding bone, then to the soft tissues of the jaw and neck. A spreading infection can compromise the airway and become life-threatening.
Pain that comes and goes doesn’t mean the infection is resolving. It often means the nerve has died while the infection continues spreading silently.
Signs requiring urgent care:
Call (214) 306-8088 immediately if you have any of these symptoms.
Kids get hurt — knocked-out teeth from falls and sports, broken teeth, sudden toothaches. Our Dallas dental team sees pediatric emergencies with extra care and a calm, reassuring approach.
Knocked-out baby tooth: Do not reinsert — it can damage the developing permanent tooth underneath. Bring the tooth and come in.
Knocked-out permanent tooth in a child: Same protocol as adults — time is critical. Keep the tooth moist and get here as fast as possible.
Broken tooth from a fall or sports impact: Bring any fragments. We assess the damage, treat appropriately, and ensure the child is comfortable throughout.
Toothache in a child: Often a cavity that has reached the nerve. We treat the infection, relieve the pain, and explain next steps to parents clearly.
Emergency dental costs vary significantly depending on what treatment is needed — a re-cemented crown is very different from an emergency root canal and crown. We discuss costs and options before beginning treatment at our Dallas office. No surprises.
We accept 18+ PPO dental insurance plans and verify your benefits on the spot before proceeding. For patients without insurance, Cherry patient financing provides flexible monthly payment plans with quick approval — and in-house payment plans are also available. Our Healthy Smiles Discount Plan at $89/year provides discounted rates on emergency and restorative procedures. Visit our insurance page for details.
Do not let cost concerns prevent you from seeking urgent dental care. A dental infection left untreated becomes dramatically more dangerous and expensive with every passing day.
